Back to life. . .

We had such a fun Christmas weekend! Why do the good times always have to go sooo fast?! Pete is already back to work and I'm sitting in a very messy house, planning on going to bed right after this :)
This was probably one of the funnest Christmases (sp?) we've had in a long time! First of all Pete had Christmas off for the first time in residency - he actually had the WHOLE weekend off!! (What kind of lottery did I just win??) Having Samuel really made it so exciting for me and Pete. We went a bit overboard with his presents (something we'll have to work on for next year!), but it was so fun to see his face Christmas morning when he walked in and saw everything.
Then at the last minute we decided to drive up to Detroit on Thursday evening and see the area. DETROIT? Ya, well you look at a map of the Cleveland area and tell me where we are supposed to explore? We've already been to Pittsburgh, Columbus, Toledo - so why not Detroit? I was actually pleasantly surprised, however, they don't call this area the rust belt for nothing - more to come. Anyway, Pete has a goal of seeing all the State capitals in his lifetime, so we also drove over to Lansing, MI to see the capital. I'll post some pictures of our trip when I get them developed. Yes, I did say developed. We forgot our camera and had to buy a disposable one ha ha!! We went to 2 different gas stations and when we found a camera, it had an inch of dust on it. Not such a popular item these days. Ahh memories. . .
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Okay, so it's all coming together for me. When you said Sunday that you went to Detroit, I thought that Pete must have had some conference there or something. You guys are ambitious! I am anxious to see your pictures of the trip. I'm glad you spoiled Samuel for Christmas. He is such a sweet kid.

Christmas with kids is the BEST! And (so far) it just keeps getting better every year : ) I'm so happy that Pete had the weekend off! Paul was supposed to work Christmas day but then they told him not to come in! It was great!!!
