Way Out West ~ Part 1

Here is a recap of our fun adventures in Utah and Idaho. It always goes by WAY too fast and we never get to see and do everything we want. While we are enjoying our time and loving our friends in Cleveland. . .it just seems like the West is the best :)
The first week was spent in Elk Ridge with my parents. My sister-in-law, Andrea, and my nephew, Clark, were able to come and spend the week with us. We had so much fun! It was great to watch Samuel and Clark "play" together (mostly taking toys from each other).

The Payson Onion Days Festival was going on when we were there. We attempted to go to the parade but we were SOAKING before it even got going. So we humored Clark and waited until the fire trucks passed and then ran to the grocery store for shelter. (my dad and Samuel slept in the car)

Fun on the Merry Go Round

I was also lucky enough to meet up with my dear friend Kristine, who was also in town to enjoy the Onion Days festivities. Kristine is the friendliest girl I know and I'm pretty sure the most popular gal in Payson. Young and old alike stopped to talk with her, it was very hard to get her alone for this photo! It was a quick visit (too quick) but I'm glad we got to see each other.

Oh how I LOVE the mountains!! One of the days we went up Payson canyon and had dinner by the lake, later we had a fire and made a favorite treat of mine - smores. Of course the little guys were in heaven! There was so much to explore and so much room to run free. It was a fun evening.

Samuel yelling at the dog and doing what boys do best - getting dirty - at my parent's house.

We also went to the Utah State Fair - we can pack a lot into one week :)

They had the funnest hands on activity for the kids at the fair. The kids would go to various stations pretending that they were farmers. There was a garden, an orchard, a "cow" to milk, a chicken coop, etc. It was SO cute, I don't think Clark or Samuel really new what was going on, but they still had lots of fun.
